Have you recently noticed your Facebook timeline being cluttered with all sorts of different baby bottle advertisements? All of them claim to be anti-colic, closely resembling a human breast and nipple, and orthodontic. It seems like every day a new one is popping up on my timeline!
Good news for you, I reached out to a few different websites and one specifically stood out to me. I emailed a company called Smilo, and they immediately responded. They said that they would send us a few things to try. In only a few days, I received a GIANT box of goodies.
From the first look, even the box was adorable! Right on the side it said, “A bundle for your bundle”. Inside the box was a reusable grocery bag with the Smilo logo on it. The company had included three boxes of pacifiers and two boxes of their bottles for us to give out to our clients to try. I was so impressed! To compare, most companies didn’t reply to my email or didn’t end up sending what they promised. This company blew the others out of the water.
Let’s start with the pacifiers. Smilo offers two different kinds of pacifiers. One is for newborns (0-2mos), and the other is for older babies. The newborn pacifier has a very unique shape. It is designed to help a newborn baby develop the essential suck, swallow, and breathe reflexes. The pacifier also expands instead of collapsing to support the palate and encourage better smiles! As your baby gets older, Smilo offers a regular pacifier that comes in three different nipple sizes to fit your baby. Stage one is for babies 0-3mos, Stage two is for babies 3-9mos, and Stage three is for 9mos and up. Smilo pacifiers were designed by a pediatric dentist so that they expand and support the palate while baby grows, which is better for their teeth than other regular pacifiers. Also, their pacifiers come in a variety of cute colors and patterns!
Next in line are the bottles! Smilo bottles are designed to reduce air intake and mock breastfeeding. The nipple has a really interesting design that is modeled after a human milk duct. This makes it easier for baby to latch and control the flow. The nipple also has a vent that helps keep air out. The bottle itself comes with a travel disk to prevent leaks, a lid to keep the nipple clean, and a silicone sleeve to help baby hold onto the bottle. The sleeve also has a little loop on it so you can hold the bottle with only one finger when your hands are full. Awesome, right? When we tested the bottle out, we didn’t have any leaks without the travel disk, but of course drops and shakes make leaking likely in any bottle. The bottle controlled air intake without having a million pieces inside that would make cleaning a hassle.
In conclusion, I think Smilo is a great brand. Their products work great. They all come in cute colors and designs, which I love. Their website is easy to navigate and their customer service is very responsive and fixes issues quickly. One of my favorite things about this brand is that they include education with every product. All of their packaging includes helpful tips and important things to know. Smilo seems like an honest, great company that really takes pride in what they do.
