Doula: Ceara Stuns
Ceara is a proud Navy spouse with 3 beautiful children. She was born and raised in the suburbs of Seattle, Washington. She met the love of her life at the age of 14 while attending church youth group. Her husband decided to join the Navy after graduating high school and they began their military life together. Throughout their military life, Ceara has been actively involved in her military community. She has volunteered in many aspects including Family Readiness Groups and holding the positions of Secretary, Special Events Coordinator, and Merchandise Coordinator. She has organized many holiday parties, Homecomings, Half-Way Parties, First Kisses and New Dad moments. She had recently become involved in the Navy’s Compass program in which she becomes a mentor to other military spouses. She has a zest for helping others in every way possible and constantly seeks new ways to achieve that. When she moved to Fort Belvoir, Virginia she met a doula who shared many of her stories and experiences. This intrigued Ceara as she was seeking new ways to help military spouses, so she began researching this career field. She ultimately decided to make the leap and become a Certified Doula through ProDoula. Her goals are to continue supporting military spouses the best she can, while helping them understand their self-worth by helping them have unbiased birth support and transition into their new family life. Being a part of the military for so long has taught Ceara to surround herself and others with the military family support system that we long to have as we are so far from our own childhood families. email@example.com
Doula: Carrie Tyson
Carrie is a proud Army brat/ Veteran spouse and mother of two children. She was born at the famous “pink hospital” Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, however most of her family resides in Natchitoches, Louisiana . Like most Army children she has seen a lot of places and loves to embrace other cultures and learn more about their practices. She has worked in military healthcare for 8 years as a Medical Assistant in the Women’s Health Clinic first at Fort Riley, Kansas and since May 2016 at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Her favorite part of her job is being a co-facilitator for Centering Pregnancy which is a group prenatal model that allows women to share common questions, concerns and also learn together during their pregnancy. She decided to become a doula after moving to Virginia because she missed being that “support person” which she often did at Fort Riley because of high rate of deployments and spouses being alone. She believes that birth is such a frightening yet empowering experience that no one should be alone so she often jumped at the chance to be at any laboring mother’s side. Carrie completed her DONA birth doula training in September of 2017. Her hope is that all mothers realize that they deserve a doula because childbirth is hard work and who doesn’t want a little help with such a big job? She has a very special place in her heart for VBAC’s being that she had a cesarean with her daughter and then a successful VBAC with her son. She just loves taking care of the military and their families which is what lead her to Stars and Stripes Doulas. Her short term goal is to complete Postpartum Doula Training and be able to offer full spectrum support to clients and their families. Long term goal to be to return to nursing school and eventually become a Certified Nurse Midwife. When she isn’t at the Women’s Health Clinic or supporting a birth, she enjoys cooking and/or baking her specialty being Cheesecake. She currently resides in Fairfax, VA with her husband Christopher and her children Cherish and Carter. firstname.lastname@example.org

Her husband served as a Paratrooper with Army Airborne out of Ft. Bragg before joining the Marine Corps in 2009. While still active duty, Danielle and John hosted over a dozen Single Marine Holiday Celebrations where they welcomed anywhere from 10-50 single enlisted Marines into their home for dinner, drinks, gifts and laughs. Danielle also held a CPDT certification and trained service dogs for disabled veterans through rescue organizations in Southern California. It’s one of her most cherished volunteer memories. After finishing his final service contract John took a job back home in his native Virginia, where they currently reside.
